Esp New bass
This weekend i was fortunate enough to vist the rockshop for a very spaecial reason... Get a new BASS when i got there I ended up getting a new Esp ltd B-50 it is completely black apart from the fretboard and strings the bass has a low action on it so its easier to play fast on it which is exactly what i wanted it has Twin Volume Control and single control With three Esp pickups. one of the reasons I got an Esp is that I had heard they were extremely nice to play and i thought i might try one out also alot of my favourite bassists use Esps such as Aaron Ruby from Walls of jericho

Stupid R18 Shows
In the new zealand hardcore/Underground scene there has been a recent increase in bands such as The chase, Antagonist, Brick vs. Face, and more. All this music is great but im Really annoyed right now because whenever these bands put on a show they make the Stupid R18 gigs therefore you cant go and it always ends up that when there all ages gigs your busy and trust me All ages gigs don't come along often. there is a small hassle in making gigs all ages but in the end Bands get more spectators giving them more money in the end so i don't really see why they don,t make every gig all ages ARRRGGGGHH!
Throwdown Vendetta album review
Easily the best sounding Throwdown album yet. The vocals are more clear as are the guitars and bass that rumble in the background. Vendetta is 100% better than Haymaker, and You Don't Have To Be Blood To Be Family, combined! All the songs in this album are intense with hardcore metal riffs that make you headbang without conscience. Vendetta is a must have for all metal lovers.
In general the lyrics are dark. Death, vengeance, burning, hate, pain, uprising, discipline, sacrifices, annihalation, ect. The lyrics are catchy and cause the adrenaline to flow. If you want to listen to songs about any of the keywords above, these lyrics fit that description. Perfect heavy metal lyrics for a perfect heavy metal album!
Overall this Is a great album if your to the more darker heavier side of music.

Walls Of Jericho
Walls of jericho are a 5 peice Hardcore Band From america They formed in 1998 with original members Candice, Aaron, mike, Wes, & Chris What set WOJ apart from other Hardcore bands around was There vocals Were female! Female vocals are rare in a hardcore band as vocals are often Growling And or Screaming and Which is not often in a womans vocal range in 2001 The band broke up after the seperation from drummer Wes keeley And not being able to find any one else of satisfaction. 2 years past and a drummer was found and the band realeased two new albums All Hail The Dead (2Publish Post004) With Devils Amongst Us (2007).
Jimi Hendrix Guitar On Fire
A Guitar set alight and burned on stage by the legendary jimi Hendrix was thought to be lost to the world until late last year, when it was found in the garage of his press officers house Tony Garland by Garlands nephew. The legendary guitar was saturated in lighter fluid and set alight at a London performance march of 1967 after this Creative Display of destruction Hendrix was rushed to hospital were he was treated for minor burns. with the guitar now found it will be auctioned off in London on september 4th the estimated worth of the guitar is 999,999 US$
Rancid Self Titled album
This is a great CD. Rancid is probably one of the least known of the punk revival bands from the early nineties. They have much more of an original punk sound. They sound a lot like Minor Threat and you can tell Minor Threat must have influenced them. The music is very fast(just like Minor Threat). The guitar isn't the most skillful, but that is what made Punk Punk. I also loved how you could really hear the bass.
The singer has a voice that is really fast and hard to understand (just like Minor Threat). Many professional singers or singing instructors would probably think this is a horrible voice, but I love it. I think punk was always different than what is considered proper. I'm not quite sure about the lyrics. They are really hard to understand and I'm not sure what the meaning is.
Like I said earlier, I think Rancid is the most punk group of the nineties. Animosity and It's quite alright are my two favorite songs from the album. I love the voice and the bass. There really isn't anuthing I hate about it.

Sex Pistols NeverMind The Bollocks
For me the best punk album of all time. This is a truly outstanding album by the first and, in my opinion the greatest punk band ever. The album has a strong guitar "attack", a word used too often but in this case most definetly true.I feel bad for the Pistols as if they had coninued with Glen Matlock instead of taking Sid Vicious then they could still be going today with new material (althought they are playing a bout of re-union shows). This album is one of the most rare kinds of album. One that all the tracks stand out and appeal.johnny Rotten and Glen Matlock's lyrics are either good or bad on this record. Songs like "God Save the Queen" or "Anarchy In The UK" have outstanding lyrics but other tracks like "Bodies" are really bout nothing. The lyrics are on this album sometimes a jest like on "EMI" were Lydon and co. attack the record company and sometimes on serious matters like politics.

The Reliever
It seemed as if it was to be an average normal day at Whangaparaoa college. Students an the odd teacher made a last minute dash for there fourth and final class of the day. some were lucky and had p.e or music something easy going that didn't require the brain drain the other classes unfortunately... i wasn't one of these lucky students I on the other hand had science! Yes you heard right. SCIENCE! the single worst subject that did torment the minds of students alike. I was no different to anyone else and despised the near fatal torture that was science but that was before one day when the most unusual thing happened...
I stepped into class gritting my teeth expecting the worst only to find the light at the end of the tunnel ( and trust me that tunnel was very dark) A RELIEVER. I was so Excited I swear a light shone down from the heavens like in one of those corny movie scenes right on to the relievers unsuspecting head. I could tell i wasn't the only one thrilled that he was here as people talked and pondered on what he was going to be like. that was except for the science nerds in the corner who seemed to sneer at the relievers presence in there beloved class. we took our seats as usual except there was a little extra talking than usual then with one loud boom of his voice "SHUT UP!!!!" the class fell into a cold dark silence everyones attitude had changed instantly from ohhh yaay reliever!! to oh crap we've got a reliever. I then looked over at the reliever to study him closer and then it hit me this dude had a hangover. the news spread quickly through the class it had been five minutes since the teachers booming command caught our attention and he had said nothing since and sat staring at the ceiling with one of those looks that said i really wish i wasn't here. now with the whole class aware of the teachers state. a plan was quickly devised to take advantage of this situation have the best possible experience with a reliever...

Alice in Chains Dirt review
Probably one of the best albums I've ever purchased. This album pretty much launched the "big paychecks for Alice In Chains. I've listened to this album a lot and now I have my opinions together. First off, Jerry Cantrell did some ammazing guitar work on this album. He is about as grunge as it gets. Songs like Them Bones and Down In A Hole show you how powerful his guitar work is. They used some pretty cool techniques in their song construction. The songs that were really slow had some haunting and powerful verses, then just bursted into a heavy chorus, and the songs that were really powerful and punchy at first had some mellow parts to it
Love this album. If your really into the Seattle grunge movement and you listen to: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, etc. I really think you oughta look into Alice In Chains' Dirt. To me it defines grunge music and I think it will always go down as one of the best grunge albums ever recorded

Creative writng Story
Backstage the atmosphere was so uneasy it could almost be seen although everyone new it they pretended as if normal hoping it would all go away but they all new it wouldn't.
The band paced anxiously trying imagine what was going to happen next it was there first big gig sure they had done shows before but they paled into comparison to this. THIS WAS IT! They could hear people pile in from the cold dark streets into the vast space that was the concert hall all bunching together like sardines in a tin. the crowd soon became restless and there voices began to boom and feet stomped. the crowd wanted there moneys worth from the night and they wanted it now. The noise penetrated the thick walls leading backstage which certainly didn't help the already increasingly tense atmosphere surrounding the band. the band all looked to one an other and gave a little nod to one and other signaling that the time was almost near. The band did a last minute equipment check almost over checking just to waste time before they took to the stage. there was nothing more that could be done and it was time. The band walked for what seemed like an eternity down a long corridor that seemed to stretch endlessly into the distance. they reached the stage and There was a short pause and then... they took the stage...

The Bull
" Will I make it...?" that was the only thought Racing through my mind as a raging bull trailed closely behind me inching closer by the second. closer, closer, closer. it was only me now that the bull followed all the others had somehow evaded the beast or been trampled along the way...
Fear, That fear was the only thing that ran through my veins, that fear was the only thing that kept me Running. i Quickly glanced Back at my opponent as its body built like a tank charging through the streets determined on one thing. my demise, the beast was gaining and there was nothing i could do nothing except pray for a miracle. Then it struck me! Water! I could run down to the river and lose the bull in the water...Wait bulls couldn't swim could they? it didn't matter now it was final and only option. it was just up ahead now using my last ounce of energy i leapt in to the water. Splash! but to my unfortunate horror this idea ended with me being crushed by a 2 tonne bull that couldn't swim leaving me in hospital for three weeks.

RATM live in Mexico city
at Mexico's Sports Pavilion. Starting off with Testify the band plays all their hit songs aswell as a couple not heard on previous albums (Zapata's Blood). Strangely for the first half of the performance the swear words are cut out but on 'Killing In The Name' they make no effort to censor the repetitive chant of "F--k you I won't do what you tell me." Everything you would expect from RATM

He turned around in the swirling white but regretted it when he fell over. He got up quickly, hoping nobody had seen him. Tim's joyful little sister came walking out into the street, screaming with excitement. She begged him to help her make a snowwoman so they knelt on the pavement and started to scoop up as much snow as they could into a pale bucket. After about an hour, the snowman was huge and Tim was freezing. He carefully stepped over the ice, back into the house for some iced chocolate.
Why blog things are very annoying
- My first reason that blog things are really annoying is that i Hate writing and a blog is complete writing
- secondly you have to come up with ideas on what to write on and all i can come up with is stupid lists complaining about something i have to do
- third is as soon as soon as you do a whole lot of blog entries and you feel real proud of yourself you look at someone elses from your class and they seem to have double what you have and then your like " oh crap"
- and then when you "accidently" forget to write one up it always seems that the teacher checks it the very next day for your convenience

Famous Monsters reveiw
This I think is the Misfits best album. Although it moves away from their old horror punk roots a bit
Micheal graves voice really shines in this CD. Fluent throughout all the recordings. The voice travels nicely along with the guitar lines.
This I think is better than the american psycho CD, but psycho is none the less excellent. Personally I think that the best songs off this CD are Helena, Scream and Dust To Dust. Theres nothiong I hate abou thsi except what the hell does it say at the beginning of track 8

A Friend
Hes quite hard to under stand at times. he doesn't care if hes wrong as long as its right to him in his mind taking no for an answer is not an option but hell usually cave and give in. what other people think of him doesn't really matter unless something or someone is really annoying him. making friends is easy to him as hes very outgoing but has his limit he wont always put 100 % into every he does only if its important to him he loves music but comes 2nd to his passion of being a nerd he also has a good sense of humor

Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain one of the greatest musicians to walk this earth He was born on February 20 1967 and was known for his influential work as lead singer/Guitarist of seattle grunge band Nirvana which formed in 1987 writing all the songs for up until his death in 1994. Kurt cobains talent as a composer is unmatched in my eyes he is most known for his song smells like teen spirit which kurt despised towards the end of his life as he felt it to commercial some of his better songs are heart shaped box, pennyroyal tea, sliver, Aneurysm, in bloom, and many more. kurt was not only known for his music but his marrige to courtney love a fellow musician and drug addict before his death death kurt had one child named Frances 'Bean' Cobain after kurt saw her in an ultrasound and qouting she looked like a bean. like most musicians in the seattle grunge scene kurt was plagued by drug addiction he attempted rehab many times only to go back on the drugs kurts final attempt a rehab ended with him scaling the 8 foot wall surrounding the center kurt was not seen again until later that week until an electritian enter Kurts house to find him dead with a shotgun wound to the head. His death was concluded to be suicide but this has been of much debate of kurts fans. Although dead Kurts legacy still lives on In 2005, a sign was put up in Aberdeen Washington that read "Welcome to Aberdeen - Come As You Are" as a tribute to Cobain. The sign was paid for and created by the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee, created in May 2004 to honor Cobain. The Committee also planned to create a Kurt Cobain Memorial Park and a youth center in Aberdeen.
My Mum
describe my mum is hard... she is very important to me and without her i would be lost she works like most other parents she cooks, she buys me things ( most important of all) she enjoys music quite alot which is one thing we both have in common but also disagree on. she is great to be around unless i've done something wrong and im in trouble. so thats My mum
Creative writing
The crowd roared, voices boomed sending shock waves through me like a knife through butter. i relaxed out of sight from the spectators hoping for sometime to settle myself before the jump but it made no difference my nerves still raged inside me making me feel terrible i heard my voice thunder through the speakers surrounding the audience and i new it was time... i came in view of the crowd once more there cheers intensifying in earsplitting shrieks of excitement which definitely didn't help my nerves i looked along the grey concrete beneath me leading to jump it looked cold dark and unforgiving and i new it was gonna win in a head on collision so that wasn't an option. i had been preparing for this moment for almost two years now, two years of practice practice practice but that didn't count for anything unless i made it today. thats what i kept telling myself as i rode...
I dont remember much after that its a bit of a blur but i do remember the pain.

Horizons - Parkway Drive
Parkway Drive, what some would call the epitome of the Australian metalcore genre, deliver all that is to be expected of such a band, fast riffs, insane drumming and huge breakdowns. After listening to the progression of the band from the EP's through to Killing With A Smile, Horizons is exactly what you would expect, which is both good and bad. It's good just to hear some new material and there a couple of really good songs, but there are also moments in songs which are terribly reminiscent of previous material. The quality of the riffs has definitely increased, but are occasionally repetitive, and Winstons vocals as always are close to immaculate. The breakdowns were disappointing for me as there is only one that really stands out, the very end of The Siren's Song. i liked the fact that they used the guitars more melodically than on previous records. I was saddened by the almost complete lack of classic lyrical moments The songs that i liked and why\

Layne staley
Layne Staley born august 22nd 1967 in Washington was the lead singer of hard rock/ Grunge band Alice in chains. Layne began his music career as a drummer playing in glam bands as he grew up but always had dreams of trading his drums for a microphone which he eventually did founding Alice in chains with musicians Mike Starr (Bass) , and Jerry Cantrell (Guitar). Layne released many albums with Alice in chains the most successful were Facelift, Dirt, Alice in chains, and Jar of flies. unfortunately like many of the other musicians on the music scene at this time Layne was addicted to heroin which ultimately led to his death on the 5th of April 2002 during an unplugged concert in 1996 Layne is clearly physically and mentally week from his addiction and often stops songs due to forgetting lyrics.Staley was found dead after an unidentified person rang 911 saying they had not heard from him in 2 weeks when police kicked down the door to staleys apartment he was found dead on the couch alongside several spray paint cans 2 crack pipes and a small stash of cocaine he was only 34 at the time. the coroners report estimates that Layne died on 5th which in coincidence is the same day as Kurt Cobain of Nirvana died eight years earlier.
Although Layne is now dead his legacy still lives on and there have been two books written about him.
RIP Layne Staley

Gallien Krueger
Gallien Krueger most people do not no what I'm talking About but I do Gallien kruegers are top of the line bass amplifiers I bet most of you aren't thinking Does it even matter what brand it is for an amp well the answer is it does different amps give out different quality of sound. Sound quality is affected by a few main things, Speaker size, Active EQ, and power, GK delivers on all of these for there products but this comes at a cost... Gallien Krueger are some of the most expensive amps on the scene for something decent enough to gig with your looking at around $1800 New Zealand at least another great feature of Gk is the bi amp option which allows to utilize two Audio amplifiers to power a set of Loud speakers Gallien Krueger also has many famous endorsers such as Duff Mckagan of Guns n roses Johnny Christ of avenged sevenfold and flea of RHCP so if you ever get into playing bass Gallien Kruger is the way to go!!
Zoo Trip
On Tuesday ours and the rest of the year 10 classes went on a trip to the zoo to study New Zealand endangered species for our science topic this term. I thought it was pretty cool that we got to walk round by ourselves and I answered a question and the teacher lady was like "wow your the youngest person to get that right" and i was like "oh yea!" I got really annoyed when we almost got sent home cause of peole acting stupid. I thought the coolest animal was probably the meerkats because one actually ended up biting drew. so that was pretty much my zoo trip.

Scott Weilands Depature
It is now official velvet revolver has split from vocalist Scott Weiland formerly of STP (Stone Temple Pilots ) the band announced there split from Weiland on 1st of April with a quote saying blaming this on 'his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems' scott replied the following morning with this quote. "After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious 'GUITAR HERO' Saul Hudson, a.k.a Slash, I find it humorous that the so called four 'founding members' of Velvet Revolver, better known to themselves as 'The Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow. The rest of the band are now on the hunt for a new lead vocalist they are not naming names at this time but did work with someone before they left for there UK tour and would like to do a little more with him along with another few unnamed persons.

Velvet Revolver Split?
It has recently come to my attention that there are rumors of velvet revolver are to split so i have compiled a list of information on this event to determine if this is true or false but first some background on the band
Velvet revolver is a Hard rock band formed in 2002 following Front man Scott Wieland's previous band ( Stone Temple Pilots) breakup the band is Grammy award winning and has released two studio albums first was contraband Which i preffered as it was more hard rock and second which strayed from there original sound but still delivered the bands lineup consists of Guitarist, Slash formerly of guns n roses with bassist Duff Mckagan and drummer Matt Sorum also from guns n roses and then you have the amazing vocals of Scott Wieland and finally 2nd guitarist Dave Kushner.
Ok now back to the issue of Velvet Revolvers apparent split... the quote that sparked the rumors of a split was "You're watching something special... the last tour by Velvet Revolver." which was spoken by Scott to a sell out crowd in Glasgow Scotland this sparked up roar with fans
Scott then walked from the stage. the rest of the band continued to play and proceed to sing in place of scott after a long while Scott returned to the stage halfwy through a song and proceeded to give a rather dull performance. After Scott's stage antics Drummer Matt told media that Scott was just having family issues and this was the reason for his quote. This only gave temporary relief to fans as this enraged Scott inspiring him to tell media Well, first of all, the state of my family affairs is really none of his business, since he is too immature to have a real relationship, let alone children. So don't attempt to stand in a man's shoes when you haven't walked his path. Secondly, 'keeping rock 'n' roll alive?' I've made many attempts to remain cordial with the members of VR, but mainly, the likes of you. Funny though — this is your FIRST band, as opposed to being a hired gun. I've been making records (now on my ninth), which have sold over 35 million copies worldwide and have maintained a level of professionalism regardless of how many drugs I've ingested into my system. I have only cancelled one tour during the entire course of my 16-year run and that was the 'make-up' Australia tour. Now, shall I open that can of worms, Matthew? Release the Kraken? Serve... Volley! You cancelled the Aussie tour in the fall because you went to rehab, but I won't say why… we'll just let Blabbermouth find out for themselves. As for our fans — I will sweat, bruise, and bleed for you. And will continue to do so until the end of this tour. However, you deserve to hear VELVET REVOLVER playing… not certain individuals singing along to get a muddied up sound. God forbid — could one imagine if I grabbed a guitar and started soloing along with Slash? That would never happen because I know my place. It's a shame… we were a gang. But ego and jealousy can get the better of anyone. I wish the best and plan to annihilate the stage in the last few show.
The last piece of information regarding the bands split is a quote from guitarist slash which i could not unfortunately find. from all this information i have come to the conclusion that velvet revolver are not going to split but have some serious issues within the group that need attention

Album review
Avenged Sevenfold the hard rock band from Huntington beach, California recently released a new self titled album. This album is one of the bands best so far with 10 tracks and three singles released so far. the album debuted at number 4 on the charts and demonstrates all the band members skills Starting with Synyster & Zackys guitar duets/Harmonies, The Revs and Johnny also provide an excellent rhythm section and finally Matt's vocals show a great range in the album.
I thoroughly enjoyed this album and would recommend to any one with an ear for rock music
Recommended listening : Critical Acclaim, Afterlife, Almost Easy, Dear God.

Museum Trip
Last week on Friday the 15th, my class went on a trip to Auckland war memorial museum. we left from school at around 9:00 am with two other classes when we arrived we split into three groups and began to explore. It was really annoying though as we had to answer questions from a sheet which took up to much time and didn't give us much time to look around properly. But my major highlight was when i got to shake hands with 5 Monks!!!!! It was Pretty mean,
so that was my trip to the museum.
so that was my trip to the museum.

Grunge Music
Grunge music in my opinion is the greatest music and I have a few reasons why.
My first reason for me believing grunge is the best music is it is a completely different branch of rock music which is easily defined and hardly mistaken.
Number two is there so many greatly talent musicians/songwriters involved in the genre such as Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Eddie Vedder, Jerry Cantrell, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell And the list goes on.
Thirdly Most grunge is very sophistocated music to compose and play. Also grunge is one of the most underated genres of rock.
